Teaching Philosophy

I believe that every student deserves the best possible chance to learn. I can accomplish that by allowing a safe environment with using many different teaching techniques. I have spent the last ten years honing my teaching abilities and taking courses to increase my knowledge of current teaching methods.

I became inspired to teach after an impromptu meeting with my former High School Principal who told me outright that it was the career for me. He turned out to be right. I have love teaching from the moment I first entered the classroom. Thanks Mr. Reese!

I have never considered myself to have a particular teaching style. I love to use technology and have incorporated PowerPoints into my lessons. I try to foster a lot of discussion and to get my students thinking. I also enjoy the time I get to spend doing laboratory assignments with my students. Over the years I have refined the labs I have my students complete and try to keep them fresh and interesting.
