My life began in the small
town of
but
had very little sports abilities. After surviving High School, I was incredibly
lucky to spend a year abroad as an exchange student.
My year was spent in a little city called Falun
about 2 ½ hours North of Stockholm, Sweden. This is where my life
changed. For the first time ever, I had to rely completely on myself. There was
no one I knew near-by to support me and push me through. Where before this
experience, I exuded a masterfully theatrical image of a self-confident
teenager who could handle anything; afterwards, I really was that person. I had
learned finally to rely on myself and that I really could get through tough
times on my own. Another major lesson learned was that I am worthwhile and a
good person.
My tumultuous teenage years behind me, I graduated from college and became engaged. I married at 25, one year after I began teaching. During my formative teaching years I also began raising a child, and shortly 2 children. 4 weeks after the birth of my second son, I returned to school to earn my graduate degree. My Masters Degree in Instructional Technology was earned through the New York Institute of Technology.

Since the completion of my Masters, I have strived to become a technology leader in my school and have been asked to instruct many of my faculty in basic technology issues. While by no means a computer genius, I have been lucky enough to have the chance to help several teachers integrate different technologies into their classrooms with enthusiasm and great results.
I am currently adding on Masters credits. I consider myself one of the lucky ones. My career
