Improvising

Improvisation can be defined as compsing while performing.

One of the units in Band involves the students learning how to improvise. We learn how to improvise as a group. Each player in the band gets four or twelve bars (measures) to improvise a melody along with a pre-recorded Jazz Rhythm section (Piano, Bass and Drumset) The final task of the unit is a recording the improvisation.
